The Drum Anchor is a practical drum rug accessory designed to help stop bass drums, cymbal stands, pedals, racks, and other drum hardware from creeping or sliding during performance.
It works by attaching firmly to compatible drum rugs and carpeted surfaces using strong industrial hook Velcro. Once positioned on the rug, the Drum Anchor creates a physical stopping point that helps keep your gear in place while you play. This is especially useful for drummers who hit hard, play on smooth stages, use lightweight hardware, or constantly find their bass drum or stands slowly moving forward during a set.
The Drum Anchor is also designed to act as a memory lock for your setup. Once you find the exact position for your bass drum, stands, pedals, or rack legs, you can leave the Drum Anchor attached to your drum rug so your gear lines up in the same spot every time. This helps speed up setup, improves consistency, and makes it easier to rebuild your kit layout at gigs, rehearsals, tour and recording sessions. No more gaffa on your rug !!
For the best results, the Drum Anchor is designed for specific carpet-style drum rugs and compatible carpeted surfaces. It relies on the hook Velcro gripping into the fibres of the rug. It will not work properly on Persian rugs, shaggy carpets, very smooth rugs, rubber-backed mats with no exposed fibres, or carpet surfaces where hook Velcro does not grip strongly.
A simple way to test your rug is to press a strip of hook Velcro firmly onto the surface. If the hook Velcro sticks strongly and resists being pulled sideways, the Drum Anchor should work well. If the Velcro peels away easily, barely grabs, or slides across the rug, that rug is not suitable for the Drum Anchor.
Drum Anchor Pedal Edition
The Drum Anchor Pedal Edition is designed specifically for double pedals and hi hat stands that often shift during playing. These also work well for slave pedals, and other foot-operated hardware.
Hi-hat stands and double pedals can move gradually during a set, especially on smooth drum rugs, lightweight carpet, or stages with a lot of vibration. The Pedal Edition helps create a firm stopping point behind or around the pedal hardware, helping reduce unwanted movement while keeping the setup position consistent.
It is particularly useful for drummers who need their pedals to feel the same every time they sit down at the kit. Once placed on a compatible rug, the Drum Anchor Pedal Edition can remain in position as a pedal memory marker, helping you line up your hi-hat stand, double pedal slave unit, or other pedal hardware quickly and accurately.
Drum Anchor Rack Edition
The Drum Anchor Rack Edition is designed to help drummers position and secure drum racks on compatible drum rugs.
Drum racks can be difficult to place consistently, especially when multiple legs, clamps, bars, cymbal arms, and tom mounts need to return to the same position at each setup. The Rack Edition helps mark out where rack feet or rack legs belong on the rug, making setup faster and more repeatable.
Rather than guessing the position of the rack each time, you can use the Drum Anchor Rack Edition as a fixed reference point. This helps keep the rack layout consistent and can reduce small setup changes that affect cymbal angles, tom placement, microphone positions, and overall playing comfort.
Like the standard Drum Anchor, the Rack Edition uses strong industrial hook Velcro and is designed for compatible drum rugs and carpeted surfaces. It is not designed for Persian rugs, shaggy carpets, or rugs where hook Velcro does not grip securely.
Rug compatibility
The Drum Anchor range is only as strong as the surface it attaches to. It is designed for drum rugs and carpets where industrial hook Velcro can bite into the surface fibres.
Before purchasing any of the Drum Anchor products, test your drum rug first. Press a piece of hook Velcro onto the rug. If it grips firmly, the Drum Anchor should work. If it does not grip, the Drum Anchor will not be suitable for that rug.
